About the Jungle Room
It all started back in August of 2000. The quest to find a location worthy of opening a bar ended in 2000 with Bloomington Indiana as home. Uncle Fester's House of Blooze located on 430 E. Kirkwood went under remodel and was able to get open 2 months later on October 13th 2000. The vision of adding on was imediately thought of due to the connection of a Chinese restaurant on the second floor. I'd tell myself, "One of these days, i'm gonna blow this place out and show Bloomington what a 'real' bar should be." It was always my intention, but never urgent. One should never rush into things, and to tackle such a feat was no small task. Uncle Fester's was a handful the way it was, not to mention adding on a bar and grill. Well, the addition took place a little sooner than antisipated.
My cousin, Keenan Gill, and I were standing on the patio of the Chinese restaurant last Spring pondering the thoughts of expanding Uncle Fester's. At the time, Keenan was living in town and working for a law firm in Indianapolis. We stood there and talked of the possibilities and thought about how great it would be if I was able to take over the space and expand. It was just a thought and a dream at the moment. Well... that same night, as odd as it may seem, a friend (now a current employee) tipped me off on some info that pertained to the Chinese restaurant and it getting bought out by another bar. The time to move was now. That same night I passed the info to my cousin and made him a proposal. If I were to expand, I was gonna need some serious help and trust. I asked him if he was interested in partnering in on it, and the rest is history. Construction/remodel began in July of 2003, and what is now known as Fester's Jungle Room Bar & Grill opened October 18th 2003.
The combination of Uncle Fester's and The Jungle Room has created the classiest, and by far the most dynamic place in Bloomington. Like nothing this town has seen or experienced. The Jungle room has an extensive menu of vegitarian and vegan dishes, as well as steaks and a wide variety of sandwiches and salad bar. Uncle Fester's has live entertainment, big screen TV (the biggest in Bloomington), plasma screen TVs, pool tables and arcade games.
Enjoy one of our 56 beers on tap outside on the sky porch, have a nice meal, shoot some pool, watch the Hoosiers on the biggest screen in town and catch some entertainment in the back. We have it all.
Fester's, where pleasure is our business.
